Tatum has been a game-changer!

July 2023

Through focus on personal goals, positive reinforcement, intuitive instruction, light-hearted interactions, and customized assignments, my daughter's writing and math (and her attitude and motivation) have improved ten-fold. She brings a wonderful mix of knowledge about the subject matter, experience with making it relevant, responsiveness, empathy, and assertiveness. Her personality and approach have resulted in my daughter regarding Tatum as more of a mentor than tutor... and that has made all the difference!

Tatum encouraged our daughter's growth and celebrated her successes.

November 2020

Our first experience with a private tutor --  it has been so great for our daughter to have this supplemental support in place. Tatum's years of experience showed. She was supportive and attentive to our daughter's needs, and she demonstrated genuine care for her success.  Tatum encouraged our daughter's growth and celebrated her successes.

With Tatum's guidance and structured teaching methods (many of which she developed herself), [our son] is now earning A's in math and is confident in his ability.

March 2016

Tatum connects with our son in a way that no other educator has been able to do. For years, our son has struggled with math—until now. With Tatum's guidance and structured teaching methods (many of which she developed herself), he is now earning As in math and is confident in his ability. We could not be happier with our son's progress, and we are so grateful for Tatum. She is a warm, understanding, fun, and compassionate teacher who makes students responsible for learning the material in a way that works best for them. We highly recommend Tatum.

Tutor Time Now has been one of the best investments we have made for our daughter. Math has become one of her favorite subjects and she is excelling in it! Our daughter started with Tutor Time Now a year ago to help with algebra.

November 2015

Our daughter had a fixed mindset on math. She did not enjoy the subject and concluded to herself that she was not good at it. Tatum started working with her and we began to see a change in our daughter’s performance and attitude toward math. Tatum works hard to strengthen foundational skills. The tutoring sessions are not homework driven, but focused on building the skills needed to understand math concepts. Tatum knows what our daughter’s strengths and weaknesses are and she has helped our daughter understand how to use those strengths and weaknesses to her advantage. Tutor Time Now has been one of the best investments we have made for our daughter. Math has become one of her favorite subjects and she is excelling in it!

In eight weeks of prep time, Tatum was able to help my son improve his raw score by 100 points. This translated to moving from the 5th to the 9th quantile (98%) in an area where he had struggled previously.
Tatum helped my son prepare for an admissions test. She gathered previous test results, and assigned a few assessment quizzes. From this data, she provided an overview of areas of strength and development, and discussed his reasons for working with her. Together they made a plan to help him achieve his goals. In eight weeks of prep time, Tatum was able to help my son improve his raw score by 100 points. This translated to moving from the 5th to the 9th quantile (98%) in an area where he had struggled previously.
I think that these results are remarkable, but what was really valuable, was that my son remained engaged throughout the process, and is eager to work with Tatum again.

My daughter connected well with Tatum. She was thorough and did assessments at the beginning so she could determine areas of weakness and really focus on those.

Tatum worked with my daughter to help prepare her for the HSPT exam. I considered several other options that were referred by friends but in the end I am happy that we chose to work with Tatum. It's a huge plus that Tatum will come to your house. My daughter connected well with Tatum. She was thorough and did assessments at the beginning so she could determine areas of weakness and really focus on those. My daughter did well on the test and was accepted at both high schools where she applied. We would definitely recommend Tatum.

Tatum is not just a tutor, she is a supplemental teacher. She replaces what is sometimes missing in the teachers’ curriculum and even forecasts what is coming up before they are presented in the classroom.
When we started my daughter’s 8th grade year she got a math teacher we were concerned was going to be difficult for her to keep up with. We immediately inquired with friends about Tutor Time Now that first week of school because we had witnessed their children’s school improvements after using TTN’s tutoring service the previous year. As soon as we met Tatum we knew we needed to look no further. My daughter was an A student from the start so there were no alarming reasons to hire a tutor other than simply to help her maintain her good grades in math. During the course of the current school year Tatum has done MUCH more than that. In moments of homework “crisis” Tatum has numerous times come to my daughter’s rescue not only in math but also in English, science, social studies and simply in helping her organize and prioritize her studies. Tatum is not just a tutor, she is a supplemental teacher. She replaces what is sometimes missing in the teachers’ curriculum and even forecasts what is coming up before they are presented in the classroom.

Tatum is not only intelligent and kid-friendly, she is very perceptive and intuitive. Despite my daughter’s good grade’s, Tatum raised a flag that she may have a learning disability and encouraged us to inquire about 504 assistance at the school. She was right! My daughter’s teachers and school administrator’s had discouraged us in this matter because of her high GPA but when Tatum insisted, we had my daughter privately tested. We are now headed to high school and the 504 assistance has been set in place so she can begin her high school years with the support she needs. There is no doubt we will continue to have the co-teaching that Tatum provides through high school and beyond if needed! The investment is worth every penny!

Tatum helped prepare my daughter for the SAT/ACT exams. My daughter was very anxious about having to take such high-stakes tests but Tatum's gentle and kind manner combined with her knowledge and professionalism helped her feel more confident and capable. Tatum was able to communicate details about my daughter's learning style and ability that attested to her capacity to individually tailor her tutoring to each student. My trust in Tatum was well-placed and I enthusiastically recommend her without reservation.

It was so nice to see my daughter with smiles instead of tears while doing her math homework.
Tatum/Tutor Time Now helped my daughter with her struggles and frustrations with math. I love that she didn't just show up to help her.... but that she took the time to also get to know her. The one on one attention Tatum was able to give was extremely helpful.
We used Tatum to help both our kids prepare for HSPT exams and would gladly recommend her to others. The one on one attention Tatum was able to give was extremely helpful as it allowed the time to be spent on my children’s specific areas of need. My kids did great on their exams and were admitted to both high schools where they applied. We also recently used Tatum to provide some early college counseling for my oldest child. Kids don’t always want to listen to their parents, so it was great to have a resource like Tatum. Tatum spent an evening with my daughter and me covering all kinds of important college prep things to be thinking about during high school. My daughter came out of that meeting with a clearer understanding of her options and a road map for her remaining high school years.

My son went from struggling with math concepts to scoring in national math competitions in the first month of working with Tatum.
As I reflect on all of the progress my son has made over the past year, I am grateful for all of the support and guidance Tatum and Tutor Time Now has given to help him gain confidence in himself both as a student and a maturing young man. My son’s progress is reflected in his grades and test scores, which were immediate in their improvement. He went from struggling with math concepts to scoring in national math competitions in the first month of working with Tatum.

While the objective measurements are certainly a key reflection of Tatum’s tutelage, I am most impressed with the rapport she cultivated with my son that enabled him to trust her with his concerns and aspirations. By taking the time to understand my son, she was able tap into the best ways to reach his mind. Tatum was able to teach him to believe in his abilities and this gain in confidence has been reflected in his overall demeanor.

I believe every child deserves to be heard and understood for who they are as that empowers them to hone their strengths and support their weaknesses. Tatum does a magnificent job at seeing the facets of children to help them understand how they learn and how to manage situations where they may have challenges. This is a direct result of her willingness to give the time needed to get to know her students as well as teach them.

I look forward to continuing to work with Tatum and Tutor Time Now in supporting my son’s growth. I feel very fortunate to have Tatum as a partner in helping my son achieve his academic goals as well as teaching life long skills that will benefit him well beyond the school years.

To the moms out there who need a tutor for your child: look no further.

We hired Tatum last year for our 13 year-old son who was nearly failing at the end of sixth grade. He insisted he did not need a tutor. Well, he absolutely fell in love with her during their first session together. Tatum has worked patiently and tirelessly with him and he now has a B average with potential to make the honor role. He used to dread his homework, especially math, but now looks forward to it and cannot wait for Tatum to arrive. She is phenomenal with him and I cannot give a higher recommendation.

Tutor Time Now took control of a downward spiral and turned the direction completely around.....Tatum created a team, and that team created a winning record.
Tatum Hutton, with Tutor Time Now took control of a downward spiral and turned the direction completely around. She did this by using not only her own know-how, but by also referring other professionals whose expertise deal with organizational and executive function deficiencies. Tatum created a team, and that team created a winning record.

Tatum herself was very reliable, positive, and upbeat, and inspiring, which created a sense of confidence in my son that very few other teachers had truly afforded him with regards to his academic potential. Specifically, I really loved her “on call” status, via text, email and phone call. We never had to wait until our hour with her for that week, but could send her a math problem over the internet, and within an hour, she’d have replied with a detailed picture of how to work it out. This was a real plus, and even when not needed, created a sense of calm knowing it was always at our disposal.

My son enjoys and even looks forward to the time he spends with Tatum. She is helpful, knowledgeable and caring. She just "gets" my kid and that in itself is priceless.
Tatum (Tutor Time Now) has been the best thing we have done to help our son. Being a "Learning Differenced" child it has always been a challenge to find someone that can work with him in a way that he can understand what is being taught. Even with resource teachers in school this has been a challenge. My son enjoys and even looks forward to the time he spends with Tatum. She is helpful, knowledgeable and caring. She just "gets" my kid and that in itself is priceless. Grades and enthusiasm is getting better. Thanks Tatum (Tutor Time Now)!

Tatum was able to identify Wyatt’s strengths and challenges and fine tune her tutoring program over time, to bring out his best.
We had the good sense to sign our son Wyatt up with Tatum early on, commencing sessions in the summer following sophomore year, something I would highly recommend. Tatum was able to identify Wyatt’s strengths and challenges and fine tune her tutoring program over time to bring out his best. For our son working with Tatum not only improved his performance substantively, but, as improvement was documented, the process bolstered his confidence for the tests as well. He went in as calm as one can be, under the circumstances, and achieved solid results. He’ll be attending Cal Berkeley in the fall.

Tatum is exceptionally personable, and truly works to understand the individual. She builds self-esteem while building ability.
I just returned from my daughter’s college orientation and it seems the right time to reflect on how she got there. My daughter is a hard-working student with very good grades, but her standard test taking ability rarely reflects her abilities. She took the SAT class with a local ‘expert’ and learned all the SAT ‘tricks’, and did the prep she was asked to do. Yet, her SAT score was disappointing and she knew it would make getting into a desirable school difficult, if not impossible. We found Tatum and thought we would give it a try. From the first meeting, Tatum earned my daughter¹s trust and successfully over the next 6 weeks inspired my daughter to follow her guidance and instruction. Tatum is exceptionally personable, and truly works to understand the individual. She builds self-esteem while building ability. Under Tatum's direction, my daughter increased her SAT score by 150+ points! In 6 week, with that confidence and ‘can do’ success, my daughter is headed to the COLLEGE OF HER CHOICE to start her career. Since our experience, we have recommended Tatum to a friend to work with their son who is struggling with community college courses. They are thrilled with the results as well. Tatum is truly a gift, and I cannot give her a stronger recommendation.

The results from that first go-round verified that Tatum was an expert at this business.
When it was time to start preparing for the SAT's, I knew that a group tutorial was just not going to work for my 16 year old daughter. She would probably lose concentration in the group, would dread attending, and it would be unproductive and a waste of money. Fortunately, right about the time that I was starting to read the junk mail advertisements for SAT individualized prep courses, a trusted professional told me about Tatum. I contacted Tatum immediately, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Tatum has been a God-send to my daughter and to our family. My daughter has had many tutors before, and always got tired of them. Not so with Tatum. Tatum is just young and "cool" enough that my teenage daughter regarded her as a trusted and respected friend. For me, even though Tatum was young and "cool", she was a mature professional who took this task seriously.Tatum is reliable, yet flexible enough to work around a teenager's busy schedule. Tatum is a real support to kids who are struggling. She always builds up my daughter's self-esteem, telling her that she is capable of so much more than she realizes. Tatum is a real role model.

I knew that Tatum really knew her stuff when she predicted exactly how my daughter would do on the different parts of the SAT test; where she was the strongest, and where she needed the most work. The results from that first go-round verified that Tatum was an expert at this business. I am really grateful for the many ways that she has helped my daughter through this anxiety-ridden and intense time. It has also relieved some stress within the family because Tatum has absorbed a lot of the college prep for us.

Tatum worked so well with our daughter that she was able to get into a top tier school...This was certainly the BEST value for our money.
In the beginning of the movie Mary Poppins, the Banks children write a description of their perfect nanny and lo and behold, Mary Poppins came to their rescue. That's how we feel about Tatum and Tutor Time Now! Tatum worked so well with our daughter that she was able to get into a top tier school. Tatum helped our daughter understand her learning differences and showed her how to use it to her advantage with her college essays. Our daughter increased her SAT scores by more than was ever hoped for. Tutoring was a priority for us, but not so much for our daughter, but one Tatum started working with her, her attitude changed immediately. This was certainly the BEST value for our money. I HIGHLY recommend Tutor Time Now for any student, but especially those with learning differences.

I wish I had discovered Tutor Time Now sooner. John and Tatum were extremely helpful in guiding my son through Algebra and Chemistry in his senior year of high school. My son was thrilled when his SAT score rose 280 points! I know that the study skills he acquired while working with Tatum will be with him though college and beyond.
Tatum has worked with all three of my sons over the past three years. My youngest son first worked with Tatum on SAT and ACT prep. His junior year was academically challenging in some subjects. Tatum was able to tutor him in multiple subjects to prepare for tests and final exams. His confidence and academic performance soared. Tatum has the ability to motivate and give students the confidence, ability, and tools they need to improve in multiple areas. My son was thrilled when his SAT score rose 280 points! I know that the study skills he acquired while working with Tatum will be with him though college and beyond.

Our second son was in his third year of college and was looking for a prep course for the LSAT. His college offered one in a group setting, being away from home we thought it may be the best option. After inquiring about the LSAT with Tatum she said she has worked with other students via Skype. Perfect for my son, Tatum was flexible and could work around a college student's demanding schedule. She also helped him to overcome his anxiousness about taking the LSAT.

After graduating from college our oldest son has decided to apply to graduate school. He knew who to talk to, he had witnessed his brothers' accomplishments after working with Tatum. He is now working with Tatum on preparing for the GMAT. Again, she is flexible and schedules her time around his work schedule. All three of our sons have completely different personalities and Tatum can attest to that! Her ability to connect with all three is truly a gift and we are fortunate to have had Tatum be a part of these important milestones.

In any given session Tatum goes from being serious and calm to animated and funny. It's truly a delight for me when I am able to observe Tatum as she's tutoring.
My life is such that it intersects with that of Tatum's and as a result I've been able to observe Tatum in a number of teaching situations. It is my opinion that, as a teacher, Tatum is truly gifted. I've observed her instructing various ages from elementary to high school. No matter what the subject, no matter the difficulty or simplicity of the subject, she dignifies each student by being totally devoted to each moment she's working with them. I've never seen Tatum become frustrated or thwarted when working with a student that doesn't understand the material. She genuinely believes it is her duty as a tutor to find out where the student's inability to comprehend stems from. She then tailors her teaching style to correspond to the student's manner or mode of learning. She has a resourceful way of painting word pictures to simplify more complex concepts.

I've also had the opportunity to watch Tatum interact with students in a classroom when she has brought her 'program' on tolerance and Deaf etiquette to the classroom in which I work. At all times Tatum had complete control of the classroom situation. She calmly and competently demanded respect and in return she respected each child as she interacted with them. It's a difficult task to keep the attention of eight-year-olds for any length of time--but Tatum made it look easy each time she did her presentation (yearly since I met her). When she told the students the presentation was over, they all expressed disappointment. They all found Tatum's style of teaching exciting and stimulating. In any given session Tatum goes from being serious and calm to animated and funny. It's truly a delight for me when I am able to observe Tatum as she's tutoring. I can, without hesitation, recommend Tatum as a tutor for anyone from 4 to 100!

After two months my daughter's grade went from a F to a A-. The results speak for themselves.
My daughter, an 8th grade student, was struggling in school specifically with Math. After 2 failing report cards I contacted Tatum, told her of the situation and she made time for us. The 1st day she identified the gaps. After 1 month a noticeable increase in attitude and grades resulted from her instruction. After two months my daughter's grade went from a F to a A-. All four of my children were tutored by and adore Tatum, and she is the #1 reason they are all successful in high school.
I hired Tatum to tutor my 3 daughters and my son in almost all of their subjects, especially English and math. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who needs help, and if you are not sure just ask Tatum because I think she tutors just about anything! I've never met anyone who knew so much about so many subjects! She really is the teenage whisperer. Yet she never makes anyone feel like they do not know things. I don't know how she does it, but Tatum has a very humble, kind, and very giving nature. She always treat each of my children so well I wish she could have moved in with us!

Tatum really knows how to motivate kids and get them to try hard even if they do not want to study the subject, like math. She is very creative with teaching in a way that children do not even know they are learning- almost like a game. All four of my children were tutored by and adore Tatum, and she is the #1 reason they are all successful in high school. After knowing her for over 8 years, I would recommend Tatum to anyone because she is generous with her time, very knowledgable in so many subjects, and she has had the biggest impact of anyone on all of my kids in the most positive ways possible.
